In conjunction with the Euro 2008 Cup that is happening in this month, I just saw the McDonald’s (Sunrise, Gurney Drive) that is near to my place has just installed a huge TV in its premise. I believe it’s most probably to be playing the sports channel. McDonald’s here is following the footstep of McD’s in Singapore which almost most of them have TVs in their store since the World Cup 2 years ago.

Now Mamak Stall/Nasi Kandar Restaurant has a fight as more and more McDonald’s are operating 24 hours. So which will you go in the midnight? Mamak Stall or McD’s? For me, I think I’ll go to McDonald’s because they got Wifi there and unlimited beverage refill. Hehe.

Talking about the direction first. Imagine you are on Chulia St, you now there’s the famous Wen Chang Hainan Chicken Rice Shop, there’s a junction beside shop, turn right in and you will came across a flat, Boey Chong Kee is located just right below the flat.

My dad told me that the flat there is the earliest flat that exist in Penang. I have been to this place for a lot of time, since many many years ago, like when I’m small. Funny is we order the same dish every time we go there for dinner.

Vegetable is good for health. Plain fried Choi Sum 菜心 is nice but the portion is quite small.

Dad loves beef and he will other this fried Ngao Zhap 炒牛杂。There’s beef, beef’s organ and eggs.

Here comes my favourite dish of all time, the Ginger Duck Meat where it taste a bit salty and the sauce is nice. You should try this if you got a chance to visit this restaurant.

The fish head is also quite nice, it’s called the Hong Siu Yu Tou 红烧鱼头.

Seriously, I recommend this place, it maybe hard for you to look out, just check out the junction beside Wen Chang Chicken Rice Shop at Chulia Street at night. Though, you may need to get there early because there will be a lot of people at night and by then time you will have to wait long for the food to be served.

Check out the map here to the restaurant here.

I don’t really know about eating in Prangin Mall. Few days ago, I was walking around in Prangin Mall and I was thirsty that time I think of buying myself a drink. There’s my friend that introduce me what they called the Ai Yu Ping, a kind of bubble tea with jelly or agar-agar inside. It’s not like those Taiwan Bubble Milk Tea because this one doesn’t have milk.

I ordered a lemon flavoured, there’s those tiny bubble and a lot of strip liked jelly that tasted sweet. A nice drink for only RM2.50. Great for quenching thirst. The little stall is located on the 1st floor of the Prangin Mall.

Yesterday, I was waiting for my friend to come to Prangin Mall to have my lunch with me, but then I was too hungry that time because I did not had any breakfast at home, so I bought something small to eat first before joining them for lunch.

Because that time I was in Starbucks Coffee with my one friend, so I bought some food in there. Browsing around, the only one that interest me is this Sherperd’s Pie when I saw it’s description with “Pie filled with Black Pepper Chicken and Mashed Potato”. Woah, chicken and mashed potato, it seems good to me.

Paid RM7.90 for the pie and it need to be reheat before serving. I gotto say that I love this, I love the mashed potato on the top and there’s a layer of chicken on the bottom. I like it, maybe it’s the first time I tried this. It’s a good one to me.
