This is actually now a how-to-cook but it’s how-I-cook. So last weekend I cooked myself lunch which is linguine bolognese. Due to limited cooking utilities at university’s hostel, I only have a microwave and I cooked my pasta with microwave, simple and easy meal. I like linguine more than spaghetti because of the flat texture. Rocks.

Take the amount of linguine of your choice. Then you can put it in the bowl to boil it. Break them into half and put into a microwave safe bowl, pour in a bowl full of tap water, cover the bowl and put it into microwave to heat it in high power for 5-7 minutes. Stir a bit in middle.

In the mean time, since I can’t really cook a beef or chicken bolognese sauce, so I cut canned ham into small pieces. Add some garlic into it too. More will be better. I wanted to put in onion too, but unfortunately run out of onion already.

I uses San Remo pasta sauce. Although it stated onion and garlic in it, but add in extra for yourself and it will taste better. Pour the pasta sauce into a microwave bowl with the ham and garlic then heat it with high power for 5 minutes. Stir in between.

Walla. Yummy. Not as awesome as cooking with stove but it’s still an awesome college food. =)

Hello people. Sorry I update so little lately, in case I did not update at all. Stupid reason is I have work to do in university and blablabla, real reason is I am lazy. Haha. I apologize, sincerely.

Back to eat and bites and all the shiokness. It had been some time McDonald’s release McShaker Fries. It’s actually large french fries put into a paper bag, then add in some flavouring powder and shake it. I have tried BBQ, and the green one, forgotten what flavour before and I like it.

Now, they are back with the Cheese flavour. I think it’s not healthy because of the flavouring, but who cares, as long as it’s delicious but please don’t eat too much of fast food because they’re fattening. =D

I didn’t want to buy a large fries especially for the McShaker, so I went to buy a large McChicken Nuggets 6 pieces meal which came along with the McShaker, since I wanted to bite something.

Fast food is not cheap nowadays. =( What we pay is not for the food, but for the fast-ness. Though, when there are many people in the store, it’s not fast food anymore. Sucks. McDonald’s lunch RM6 value meal is the best. Haha.

Last weekend, I went to join the kids sushi making class organized by Penang Foyi‘s welfare group, a buddhist society here. I am not a kids but my friend was the organizer and she asked me to join in for fun and so I went. It’s held at Sushi King, Prangin Mall.

There’s like over 40 kids at there and everyone was so anxious about the class. I did sushi myself before but it was quite a failed one because I’ve forgotten to mix the vinegar with sugar and salt.

They thought us some simple Japanese term on food. Then rice mixing and the important part which people always forget is mix vinegar with sugar and salt. This is very important or else the rice would be tasteless. Pour vinegar on a mixing bowl or cup or anything, then add in sugar and salt. Don’t really need a lot, you can try the taste with your finger until and sweet and salty feel. Only then pour the mixed vinegar into your cooked Japanese rice.

We did have a little hands on. But only did 2 sushi. It’s for the kids and it’s not really a real hands on because they gave us rice that’s already shaped by machine and we only needed to wrap it with crabstick and nori sheet. And their nori sheet is nicely cut already, unlike what we bought from the supermarket.

Guess the best part of the day was having the little sushi bento and learning about mixing vinegar with sugar and salt. Haha. I’m gonna try it again at home because I failed last time. My sushi was pretty tasteless.

I am sure the kids did have a good time at there.

Nothing much to comment, the vegetarian food, in fact some other food, not-vegetarian sucks too at the Malaysian National Service Camp, the camp I was in was Kem PLKN White Resort. You can’t expect much, some times the food is good, some times the good is not, some times you like it, some times you don’t. It’s a camp, you can’t look for good food except self-cooked instant noodle and tidbits which rock. =D

What I loved the most in the camp was the fried chicken ala Malay style and scramble eggs. But somehow, the canteen operator was very selfish who only take a little scramble egg for people.
