So Long Never Had Homecooked Food

I had been in the National Service (PLKN) for 6 weeks and it had been quite a long time I never had homecooked food. I eat lousy food everyday in camp, it’s always chicken and fish, cooked in Malay style and most of the time were not delicious at all. This time I came back from camp, I finally get to indulge in my grandma’s delicious cooking. Yummy!

Yesterday afternoon I went to Grandma’s place and she cooked 4 dishes for lunch and all of them were damn nice!

Siong Tong Yuen Choi. Basically it’s vegetable, salted egg, century egg cooked together with soup.

Grandma’s food rocks and NS food does not rocks, except the chicken in camp hard like a rock. LOL

OMG Nasi Lemak at PWTC during MIFF 10

IMG_6900 by nicholaschan.

I went to Kuala Lumpur 2 days ago to visit the Malaysia International Furniture Fair (MIFF) at PWTC (Putra World Trade Centre) with dad. Dad is working in the furnishing industries. ^^ Their caterer for food should really improve on their food because serving not-up-to-par food to International visitor will gives them a bad impression about Malaysia’s food.

The nasi lemak I had was very GELI (a slang as in yucks!). Ingredient-less, and not spicy, can’t feel the lemak-ness. We were in a rush, so we had one of our meal at there, so basically, we were forced to eat at there. Else, would went to look for good food in town, perhaps Jalan Alor? =)

Seriously, it’s an international event and we must have good food at event venue! Agree?

Homemade Cupcakes, FAILED

IMG_4258 by nicholaschan.

Last week, I went to a friend place to talk and found out that they were making cupcakes. I didn’t really know how to make and when I was there, they were almost finished.

Chocolate flavour with homemade chocolate vanilla cream topping.

Looks not bad, but FAILED. The cream was too soft, too creamy, melted and the cupcake muffin was too, I don’t know how to describe, it’s not crispy enough, it’s like not harden enough too. Weird feel. Gonna try again with other flavour next time.
