My teacher brought me to seafood dinner and he ordered an exotic delicacy and it is the tail of a crocodile. Where we had this was at Hai Buay, Teluk Kumbar there. I am not sure about the price but it taste and feels a little bit like the sea cucumber, it’s doesn’t feels like meat. It’s soft and chewy in mouth. Well, dare to try? Well, it’s not that bad to me but I am not thinking about eating it again. Haha.
There’s a little stall at Perak Lane (Lorong Perak) that make very delicious frog and seafood porridge. People living around that area may know about this place already and sometimes the place is full of people and have to wait for sometimes until the porridge to be serve. You can pick the choice of porridge or been hoon (rice noodle).

The specialty about this porridge is the soup, it’s very delicious and the sweetness is special, the sweetness is not from the sugar but from the seafood and frog. One of their famous seafood is the crab so maybe during your next visit, you can order the crab porridge to try it out.
It’s located at the junction of the very end of Lorong Perak (Perak Lane) with Jalan Jelutong.
The first Manhattan Fish Market outlet in Penang is in Queensbay Mall and the 2nd one is coming to you at Gurney Plaza. Before its existence in Penang, there’s already a similar restaurant at Gurney Plaza, Penang called Fish & Co.
Personally, I like Fish & Co’s fish and chips and I like the seafood platter of Manhattan Fish Market. But now the Fish & Co outlet at Gurney Plaza is closed already to make way for the new extension, I’m not sure will it be opened again.
I like fish and chips! Ask for more tartar sauce, garlic and chilli sauce. The chips is nice too.
Everytime, when the waiter comes to fire up the prawn on the seafood platter for a deep fried look, we will get excited. Haha. The seafood platter is very nice and can makes one very full. Love the prawn, the fried oyster, the fish fillet and there’s a lot of squid. The garlic rice is delicious too. It’s for two and perhaps 3 too.
