Found a logo that looks like Starbucks Coffee in Guangzhou. It’s at I-forgot-which-mall-it-was, it’s one of the mall in Tian He District, I just can’t remember the name.
So, it is a copycat or a person who is running the business is a hardcore Starbucks fan? Unfortunately, I didn’t get a chance to try on the coffee.
My brother went to Shenzhen one year ago, he went into one of the KFC and simply ordered the Chicken Roll with Peking Duck Sauce (老北京鸡肉卷 mandarin:lao3 bei3 jing1 ji1 rou4 juan3) and keep craving for it after he had came back home. During my recent visit to Guangzhou in December, I finally got to taste on it and now I knew that why he like it so much.
It’s the sauce that makes the chicken roll tasted good. The sauce is the sauce that people use to eat with Peking Duck but there’s no duck at KFC, so it’s fried chicken. If there’s no sauce, it’s just same like our local Twister chicken roll. I like Twister too.
Another thing is, the Chinese KFC do sells Pineapple Egg Tart. It’s delicious! =)
I only tried their KFC fast food restaurant but not McDonald’s, the menu at the Chinese McDonald’s seems the same so I didn’t feel attracted to it. If you got a chance to get into one of the Chinese KFC, try the chicken roll, it’s nice.

There’s a noodle chain store in Guangzhou that has a very funny English name, it’s called Let Me In but in doesn’t means Let Me In in Chinese. It’s 靓面轩 (cantonese:leng min hin). It’s famous for the Wan Tan Noodle (Wan Tan Mee).
I went there before for breakfast during my Guangzhou trip and it’s located on the Shang Xia Jiu Pedestrian Street just right across the Holiday Inn Shifu Hotel. It’s very easy to find.

The waitress recommended their Zi Zun Wan Tan Mee 自尊云吞面. I ordered a bowl to try out and seriously it’s good. I like the noodle very much, very springy and crunch, it’s not soft and the soup tasted good too. There’s a few wan tan balls lying below the noodle and it’s big.
One thing that all the Wan Tan Mee in Guangzhou is soup based and not like here that we get to choose between dry or soup.

Besides that, I ordered a vegetable in oyster sauce for side dish. Compairing this with the same thing here in Malaysia, it’s not so oily.
From what I’ve known, Let Me In can be found in several location in Guangzhou, it’s a noodle chain store.
A windy cold night, at around 11 degree celcius, it’s nice to eat something very hot. I was in Guangzhou and the weather at night was very cold and with the wind blowing on your face, you will feel like looking a place to hide your face from the wind. The windbreaker and trousers are only for the body and legs but not the face.
Outside my hotel, Shifu Holiday Inn, just located right behind Shang Xia Jiu Pedestrian Street, there’s a little stall selling hot Japanese Takoyaki Squid Ball. The stall’s name is called Japan Boat and I believe it’s a nationwide chain stall.
Selling at 6 Chinese Yuan per box, and each box has 3 balls. The takoyaki ball is big and you can choose different sauce topping. I picked mayonese and wasabi. Taste good and because of the hotness, it warmed me up.
