<p>Where on earth you can find this combo besides Ikea? Even kopitiam is charging RM2 for a can of soft drinks and bakery is charging for RM2 for a curry puff. Ikea rocks man!</p>

<p><span class="photo_container pc_z">After a little shopping at Ikea this afternoon, I bought a combo of curry puff and softdrinks for RM2. I was too hungry and then I add on a hot dog bread and another curry puff. With the bottomless softdrinks, I was full. =)<br />

<p>I went to the famous and longest night market in Kuala Lumpur last Wednesday night and that&#8217;s the Taman Connaught Pasar Malam. After visiting the night market here, I felt that Penang&#8217;s night market is not that happenings and have less food. Nevertheless, they still rocks as I am a night market fan.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/nicholas-chan/5078307224/in/photostream/" onclick="urchinTracker('/outgoing/www.flickr.com/photos/nicholas-chan/5078307224/in/photostream/?referer=');"><img src="http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4105/5078307224_50044d7c96_z.jpg" alt="" /></a></p>
<p>I realized that they do sell the stinky tofu (fermented tofu) here at the night market, which is pretty cool because all the while, I thought these stinky tofu is only available in Hong Kong and China, Kuala Lumpur have them too! At Taman Connaught night market, there&#8217;s one famous one which is the Chew Chew Chow Tofu which always has people queuing up for their stinky tofu.</p>
<p>It really smells bad but seeing so many people were in the line, I and my friend joined in too, to find out how stinky they are.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/nicholas-chan/5078307224/in/photostream/" onclick="urchinTracker('/outgoing/www.flickr.com/photos/nicholas-chan/5078307224/in/photostream/?referer=');"></a><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/nicholas-chan/5375104256/in/set-72157625747154159/" onclick="urchinTracker('/outgoing/www.flickr.com/photos/nicholas-chan/5375104256/in/set-72157625747154159/?referer=');"><img src="http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5046/5375104256_ee58000dfe_z.jpg" alt="" /></a></p>
<p>They are tiny fried tofu but with a strong odor. There&#8217;s small little pieces and also big pieces of tofus.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/nicholas-chan/5374506263/in/set-72157625747154159/" onclick="urchinTracker('/outgoing/www.flickr.com/photos/nicholas-chan/5374506263/in/set-72157625747154159/?referer=');"><img src="http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5126/5374506263_ef7675208b_z.jpg" alt="" /></a></p>
<p>Well, just to try out, we bought 4 little pieces. It&#8217;s not tofu itself only, but with some sweet sauce and a little bit picked vegetable on top.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/nicholas-chan/5375106548/in/set-72157625747154159/" onclick="urchinTracker('/outgoing/www.flickr.com/photos/nicholas-chan/5375106548/in/set-72157625747154159/?referer=');"><img src="http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5290/5375106548_6d922cdd81_z.jpg" alt="" /></a></p>
<p>So how&#8217;s the taste? Just a little crispy thingy, tasted good, but super not healthy cause it&#8217;s deep fried and the oil reuse and reuse again. The odor didn&#8217;t get that strong after that, perhaps inhaling too much of them. Somehow, I felt that&#8217;s it&#8217;s not so same as the one I had in Hong Kong few years back, the odor were stronger. Anyway, I am going to Hong Kong in a few weeks time, and I am going to check it out again. =D</p>
<p><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/nicholas-chan/5374509759/in/set-72157625747154159/" onclick="urchinTracker('/outgoing/www.flickr.com/photos/nicholas-chan/5374509759/in/set-72157625747154159/?referer=');"><img src="http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5281/5374509759_eb37a69faf_z.jpg" alt="" /></a></p>
<p>My friends Arron and Carmen have a try on it too, and they told me that it&#8217;s nothing special, but still tasted not bad or ok-good.</p>
<p><em>So what do you think? Do you like stinky tofu? </em></p>

<p>I love buffet breakfast provided by hotel most of the time especially at a hotel with good reputation and stars like the Hilton Hotel at Petaling Jaya. A couple weeks ago, I was staying there for a night with my parents and we were given free buffet breakfast. Since it&#8217;s free, for sure I would wake up early to check it out. I heard that these buffet breakfast can cost up to RM50.</p>

<p>With a variety of International cuisine ranging from Chinese, Western, Indian to local Malaysian food. They are good, but, I felt they were not the best hotel breakfast to me. I still like the one at Sensa Hotel, Bandung, Indonesia which have a better dining experience and food.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/nicholas-chan/5236379515/in/photostream/" onclick="urchinTracker('/outgoing/www.flickr.com/photos/nicholas-chan/5236379515/in/photostream/?referer=');"><img src="http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5003/5236379515_63e5616b74_z.jpg" alt="" /></a></p>

<p>I don&#8217;t really understand why there&#8217;s a long queue every time I passed by Sushi Zanmai outlet in KL like at The Gardens and 1Utama. It was a Tuesday and I went to the Sushi Zanmai at Sunway Pyramid for a lunch. This Sushi Zanmai is just another Japanese restaurant with sushi belt like Sakae Sushi and Sushi King but then it&#8217;s not available in Penang. My friend told me that their food is low in price but to me it&#8217;s just almost the same except the salmon sushi is kinda cheap. =D</p>
<p><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/nicholas-chan/5204054135/in/set-72157625460314900/" onclick="urchinTracker('/outgoing/www.flickr.com/photos/nicholas-chan/5204054135/in/set-72157625460314900/?referer=');"><img src="http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5129/5204054135_43b4f939a5_z.jpg" alt="" /></a></p>
<p>After all those wondering and don&#8217;t-understands, I finally made myself there to know why. Actually there&#8217;s no why. LOL. It&#8217;s just felt better than Sushi King and cheaper than Sakae Sushi IMO.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/nicholas-chan/5204054507/in/set-72157625460314900/" onclick="urchinTracker('/outgoing/www.flickr.com/photos/nicholas-chan/5204054507/in/set-72157625460314900/?referer=');"><img src="http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5129/5204054507_91fa06c52e_z.jpg" alt="" /></a></p>
<p>A plate of Salmon Sushi is priced at only RM3.90 of two but then I never see it on the belt and we have to order from the people there.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/nicholas-chan/5204656556/in/set-72157625460314900/" onclick="urchinTracker('/outgoing/www.flickr.com/photos/nicholas-chan/5204656556/in/set-72157625460314900/?referer=');"><img src="http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4087/5204656556_b1a3669963_z.jpg" alt="" /></a></p>
<p>A nice big slice of fresh raw salmon covered a rice ball. The freshness cannot be said as super fresh but it&#8217;s fresh in my mouth, I felt. Some Japanese restaurant served salmon with smaller size. This is good.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/nicholas-chan/5204656556/in/set-72157625460314900/" onclick="urchinTracker('/outgoing/www.flickr.com/photos/nicholas-chan/5204656556/in/set-72157625460314900/?referer=');"><img src="http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5201/5204655022_91708a6b20_z.jpg" alt="" /></a></p>
<p>My main dish was a I-ve-forgotten-the-name, Chicken Katsu something, it&#8217;s deep fried chicken with mayo sauce, a little bit of seaweed strips and Japanese rice. To be honest, it&#8217;s not really a good one as the chicken is kinda tasteless. I ate it with wasabi and soy sauce. This is only a small one, I wondered how big is it if I order a big one.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/nicholas-chan/5204058943/in/set-72157625460314900/" onclick="urchinTracker('/outgoing/www.flickr.com/photos/nicholas-chan/5204058943/in/set-72157625460314900/?referer=');"><img src="http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4108/5204058943_871d7679fc_z.jpg" alt="" /></a></p>
<p>Here&#8217;s another I-ve-forgotten-the-name sushi, I know it&#8217;s Unagi something something. Haha. It&#8217;s a nice unagi sushi and it&#8217;s a must-order if you are a unagi lover like me! =)</p>

<p><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/nicholas-chan/5204662898/in/set-72157625460330214/" onclick="urchinTracker('/outgoing/www.flickr.com/photos/nicholas-chan/5204662898/in/set-72157625460330214/?referer=');"><img src="http://farm6.static.flickr.com/5007/5204662898_62bef69fca_z.jpg" alt="" /></a></p>
<p>So last week, I went to this Indulge Cafe just to try a crepe cake, introduced by my friend Wanyi. I don&#8217;t really know what&#8217;s a crepe cake, it&#8217;s like layering cake and it&#8217;s cold and best of all it&#8217;s yummy! Wonderful homemade crepe cake. We ordered a big cake of it for Nita&#8217;s birthday and she was happy and everyone was happy too! I like it.</p>
<p>They do serve western food other than desserts.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/nicholas-chan/5204059677/in/set-72157625460330214/" onclick="urchinTracker('/outgoing/www.flickr.com/photos/nicholas-chan/5204059677/in/set-72157625460330214/?referer=');"><img src="http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4089/5204059677_30c774c8bd_z.jpg" alt="" /></a></p>
<p>=)</p>

We were actually wanted to go to Mandarin Oriental Hotel for dim sum breakfast but then the restaurant wasn&#8217;t open that day. So went to walk around Suria KLCC to look for breakfast and we found DOME.</p>
<p><img src="http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1053/5129150248_8537c892c0_z.jpg" alt="" /></p>
<p>Food price at Dome Cafe would be rather expensive but we had no choice but to breakfast in there because mom and dad are not a fast food person. I ordered myself a cup of hot chocolate. Expensive stuff comes with a nice chocolate presentation on a nice Dome cup.</p>
<p><img src="http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1425/5129151072_1b03316072_z.jpg" alt="" /></p>
<p>Ta-daa. Here is my Chicken Ham and Eggs on Toast. The egg, the ham is awesome and also the sauce too. Just that, I wonder why English&#8217;s croissant is so hard to bite.</p>

<p>Victor and Yong Xiang introduced me about this Snowflake Taiwanese Dessert cafe at SS15, just right opposite of the famous-to-student Asia Cafe. By hearing the name, I thought it was just some typical snowy type dessert. In fact, it&#8217;s not what I was expected and it&#8217;s something that I come across for the first time.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/nicholas-chan/5077860477/in/photostream/" onclick="urchinTracker('/outgoing/www.flickr.com/photos/nicholas-chan/5077860477/in/photostream/?referer=');"><img src="http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4127/5077860477_23422802a7_z.jpg" alt="" /></a></p>
<p>Located right opposite of Asia Cafe on the first floor, so you might need to look up to spot the cafe when you pass by that place.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/nicholas-chan/5077861021/in/photostream/" onclick="urchinTracker('/outgoing/www.flickr.com/photos/nicholas-chan/5077861021/in/photostream/?referer=');"><img src="http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4033/5077861021_e9f0fddb87_z.jpg" alt="" /></a></p>
<p><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/nicholas-chan/5078455720/in/photostream/" onclick="urchinTracker('/outgoing/www.flickr.com/photos/nicholas-chan/5078455720/in/photostream/?referer=');"><img src="http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4129/5078455720_1e90c1b003_z.jpg" alt="" /></a></p>
<p>It was Thursday night and it&#8217;s already 1030pm, but then the crowds kept coming in and the queue was pretty long. Whole house was filled with people and I started wondering what&#8217;s so awesome about this Snowflake. So I made my way through the line and ordered my very first Snowflakes Special Hot, I was have a fly at that time.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/nicholas-chan/5078456030/in/photostream/" onclick="urchinTracker('/outgoing/www.flickr.com/photos/nicholas-chan/5078456030/in/photostream/?referer=');"><img src="http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4065/5078456030_74b5fb3f82_z.jpg" alt="" /></a></p>
<p>After ordering my dessert, I was given a round gadget thing which they called it the Beeping UFO. Makes me felt so Star Wars or Star Trek and it&#8217;s pretty cool. I took the thing to my table to wait for my command from the spaceship captain.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/nicholas-chan/5077861949/in/photostream/" onclick="urchinTracker('/outgoing/www.flickr.com/photos/nicholas-chan/5077861949/in/photostream/?referer=');"><img src="http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4038/5077861949_4066d9f787_z.jpg" alt="" /></a></p>
<p>After 5-10 minutes of waiting, it blinked and vibrated. I knew that I was ready to go to my spaceship.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/nicholas-chan/5078456524/in/photostream/" onclick="urchinTracker('/outgoing/www.flickr.com/photos/nicholas-chan/5078456524/in/photostream/?referer=');"><img src="http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4064/5078456524_ca626f3775_z.jpg" alt="" /></a></p>
<p>So here&#8217;s what I ordered, you see nothing right? It&#8217;s actually grass jelly with peanut and taroballs. You will think, &#8220;what?! grassjelly?&#8221; I tell you, the grass jelly is different from what you order out there, it&#8217;s, just special. And the taroballs is something chewy and nice to put inside my mouth. I have no idea how to describe it. Although I ordered a hot one, but then it came out warm which didn&#8217;t burn my tongue or throat and turned out nice.</p>
<p>I recommend this place. =D Too bad they didn&#8217;t offer WiFi at there, else I would be sitting at there all night long surfing the net and blog more already.</p>
<p>They have another outlet at Pavilion too. So in case you are far from SS15, Subang Jaya, you can check out the one in Pavilion. =)</p>

<p>The place I am living right now is so close to Puchong but then I don&#8217;t always go there to eat in fact, I don&#8217;t because I am selfish and I don&#8217;t want to pay for the toll RM1.60 for the LDP highway. Haha. It&#8217;s so close if to and fro will be RM3.20 already. Last Thursday, I accidentally went to a wrong way and end up passing the toll after school. I don&#8217;t want to waste my toll paid although it&#8217;s just little so I went to have lunch at Puchong. Haha.</p>
<p><img src="http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4035/5077834953_d7c59aaeec_z.jpg" alt="" /></p>
<p><img src="http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4032/5077835453_b6f2147e07_z.jpg" alt="" /></p>
<p>My friend, Zhi Sheng who is a local here introduced me to this Fatt Kee Mixed Rice cafe, somewhere just right opposite Tesco Puchong. Last time, this kind of mixed rice, people call it economy rice because it was cheap, later then they changed the name from economy rice to mixed rice because it&#8217;s not cheap now. I look at the number of dish and surprise to see that there&#8217;s more than 20 dishes and it&#8217;s pretty interesting.</p>
<p><img src="http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4058/5077835947_4d8475f0e1_z.jpg" alt="" /></p>
<p>I took bitterguard, pork, petai and another kind of pork and salted vegetable and guess how much it cost? RM5. It&#8217;s confirm cheaper than here in my campus which would probably be RM6-7 already.</p>
<p><iframe width="640" height="480" frameborder="0" scrolling="no" marginheight="0" marginwidth="0" src="http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?ie=UTF8&amp;hl=en&amp;msa=0&amp;msid=100073510666181549549.000469feb8850ec72b675&amp;ll=3.034691,101.617473&amp;spn=0.005143,0.006866&amp;z=17&amp;iwloc=000492b4c3d301231d2c2&amp;output=embed"></iframe><br /><small>View <a href="http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?ie=UTF8&amp;hl=en&amp;msa=0&amp;msid=100073510666181549549.000469feb8850ec72b675&amp;ll=3.034691,101.617473&amp;spn=0.005143,0.006866&amp;z=17&amp;iwloc=000492b4c3d301231d2c2&amp;source=embed" style="color:#0000FF;text-align:left" onclick="urchinTracker('/outgoing/maps.google.com/maps/ms?ie=UTF8_amp_hl=en_amp_msa=0_amp_msid=100073510666181549549.000469feb8850ec72b675_amp_ll=3.034691_101.617473_amp_spn=0.005143_0.006866_amp_z=17_amp_iwloc=000492b4c3d301231d2c2_amp_source=embed&amp;referer=');">Shiok Or Not : Food Map</a> in a larger map</small></p>

Until now, I don&#8217;t know where is the really originality of pan mee. Last week, a blogger friend, Yong Xiang brought me to Taipan, USJ there to try out a famous Chilli Pan Mee.</p>

<p><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/nicholas-chan/5078432562/in/set-72157625155750538/" onclick="urchinTracker('/outgoing/www.flickr.com/photos/nicholas-chan/5078432562/in/set-72157625155750538/?referer=');"><img src="http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4085/5078432562_a143658331_z.jpg" alt="" /></a></p>
<p>Basically, Chilli Pan Mee is actually dry pan mee later then add in the dry chilli paste, stir your noodle and it will become Chilli Pan Mee. I was curious and I am a spicy eater so I ordered a bowl to eat.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/nicholas-chan/5078433660/in/set-72157625155750538/" onclick="urchinTracker('/outgoing/www.flickr.com/photos/nicholas-chan/5078433660/in/set-72157625155750538/?referer=');"><img src="http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4060/5078433660_d00806a443_z.jpg" alt="" /></a></p>
<p>It comes with a soup in case your noodle is too dry, you can add some soup to wet your noodle.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/nicholas-chan/5078433350/in/set-72157625155750538/" onclick="urchinTracker('/outgoing/www.flickr.com/photos/nicholas-chan/5078433350/in/set-72157625155750538/?referer=');"><img src="http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4034/5078433350_1a3e9ef395_z.jpg" alt="" /></a></p>
<p>Normal Pan Mee with dry ikan bilis and minced meat and an egg. Simple as that, but when the homemade spicy chilli paste is added, it tasted all different. And what I wanted to say is, it&#8217;s really very very spicy! It&#8217;s different from bitting the little cut chilli, or chilli sauce. The Chinese called it 麻辣 (mandarin: ma1 la4) which numb your taste bud and give you a spicy feel. It&#8217;s not instant and it&#8217;s the most spiciest feel ever. I saw Yong Xiang added 3 scoop of the chilli paste and I added 2 scoop and it&#8217;s really very spicy. I wonder how he could eat it.</p>
<p>For newbie, I recommend you to start with half a scoop to feel the taste first. If it&#8217;s not enough only add more. If you have a bad stomach, you better don&#8217;t eat it. You will feel it when you go to toilet the next day.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/nicholas-chan/5077839809/in/set-72157625155750538/" onclick="urchinTracker('/outgoing/www.flickr.com/photos/nicholas-chan/5077839809/in/set-72157625155750538/?referer=');"><img src="http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4005/5077839809_a08c5ed624_z.jpg" alt="" /></a></p>
<p>We also ordered a bowl of 水饺 (mandarin: shui2 jiao3) Chinese Water Dumplings. This is good, something which balance the taste buds from spiciness. What&#8217;s so good is the soup of course, but the best is the dumpling which is big and filled with many ingredient in it. I like this.</p>
<p>Overall, this place is pretty cool, but next time for sure I will not add in so many chilli paste already, it&#8217;s crazy.</p>

Victor and Yong Xiang.</p>
<p>I checked around and this restaurant is not only available in Taipan, USJ but several places. So you can check it out if you have never been to before and want to try some spiciness.</p>
