It has a name before. Bali-bali, but now it’s Red Bali. It’s a seafood restaurant and quite famous among the locals here and it is located at Farlim. I guess a lot of people knew about this place. Because I’m staying quite far from Farlim, it’s like the other end for me and so I do not get to visit this place oftenly. The last time I eat at Red Bali I think was 7 months ago during Chinese New Year. Woah, that was long.

It was just a typical weekend dinner for us. Nothing big and fancy. Dad and mom went to Farlim to meet someone on the weekend night and we decided to have our dinner at Red Bali. It’s not only consist of seafood, there’s a wide range of Chinese dishes to choose from.

It’s a fried fish with chilli sauce, filled with onions and garlic. It’s crispy and doesn’t have a lot of bones and so it’s quite easy to consume.

I love soup, this is the *oh shit, i’ve forgotten the name*, a soup with a lot of vegetable and salted egg. Though this is not the best I had, it’s not salty or sweet enough, instead it’s a bit tasteless.

The local call this dish 四大天王 Si Da Tian Wang literally meaning 4 Big Kings, as there’s the lotus seed, petai, another 2 types of vegetable that I’ve never came across the names before fried with sambal and prawns. Simply delicious!

Well, the last dish was the sweet pork ribs. Personally saying that it’s not that nice. There’s a nice place that serve pork ribs in Tanjung Bunga, next time I’ll cover on that. You must dip it with the sauce provided and eat it else it’s just sweet on the outside. It’s not the taste but the meat is not soft enough. When eating ribs, less meat is the best.

One thing special about it is they gave us a lot of this kind of sauce, it’s not actually chilli sauce, it’s a bit sweet, spicy and sour. Taste good when it with rice. =)

It’s 550baht (approx RM55) per person and there’s quite a lot of Japanese food to choose from. The most worthful food to eat there was the fresh oyster and salmon sashimi.

I ate a lot of those and luckily I didn’t puke it out, love them a lot. It’s a Japanese restaurant call Daichi Restaurant at Emerald Hotel, Bangkok. If you get a stay there, check out the buffet.

Fresh juicy big oyster. I never had such big oyster before in Malaysia.

Dad took the raw prawn to the tepanyaki section to pan fried it, it’s big too and same juicy. Damn nice man!

Long ago, I wrote about this western food at Fettes Park, Tanjung Tokong before, but it was before I restart this blog, so now I gonna reintroduce a place that I often go for western food. Fettes Park Western Food was actually located at Fatty Loh’s Chicken Rice shop and now has moved to it’s own shop two lots next to it. It opens in the evening until late at night.

I often order this Holland Chicken. There’s cheese layer on top, ham, and the chicken is grilled. It’s a nice one and I got to say that this is better than the Grilled BBQ Chicken there.

What they actually famous for is the Chicken Gordon Blu where the chicken is stuffed with cheese and ham. Remember to ask for extra cheese which I always do if you want to order this food. This is really nice, trust me.

Due to the recent inflation, the price is up a little bit, though everything is still under 10 bucks except for the steaks. Good place.

I stayed back after school today and I had my lunch in my school canteen today. I budget tight recently as I have been shopping a lot, so I have to reduce eating more junk food in school like nuggets, hot dogs etc etc.

Usually, during lunch in school, I will order rice with 3 dishes at RM2 and add extra nuggets, fried eggs or wan tan for RM1. Then another glass of drinks for RM0.50.

Today, I took a change, I ordered the famous Koay Teow Thng for lunch at only RM1.20. Of course it’s not enough for a growing kid like me, I didn’t even plan to just eat only 1 food for lunch. RM1.20 consist only a little bit of ingredient, like 3 fish balls, a meat ball, rice flat noodle and a little bit of meat. Many people loves the koay teow thng, during recess time, the stall always has the longest line.

Another food I ate today was the Char Koay Kak, which is most probably define as fried rice cake, it’s like the famous char koay teow in Penang, it uses rice cake instead of flat rice noodle. I will never order the RM1.20 one because it doesn’t consist of an egg, just add a little bit of RM0.30, you will get an egg with that.

The weather was so hot today, I had finished my bottle of water before school dismisses. Then I bought myself a glass of syrup juice for only RM0.30. Still remember a few years back, it’s only RM0.20 per glass, but because of inflation, everything goes up.

Last week, my teacher took me to a coffee shop near Pulau Tikus for western food dinner. I saw this little western food stall a long time ago at the junction of Jalan Pasar and Solok Moulmein (Moulmein Close) in a coffee shop. It’s also can be said that it’s near to the Pulau Tikus Market.

The western food is only available at night and the little stall in the coffee shop is call Chef’s Delights.

It’s a good approach as I loves local western food. My teacher ordered for me a Chef’s Special Chicken Chop which is likely to be fried chicken fillet in batter. The best is the sauce, remember to ask for separate sauce so you can also deep some of your fries in it. Unfortunately, it’s not allow to ask for extra sauce, that’s what people have been telling me, you want more sauce, you pay.

Overall, it’s a nice food to eat and I think I’ll bring my parents there to try out too.

I don’t really eat ice cream a lot, doesn’t mean that I don’t eat or dislike ice cream, it’s just that I don’t always eat it. Last week, my teacher brought me to Haagen Daaz at Belissa Row. For so many years, I don’t remember when is the last time I went to there so I’ll just consider it as my new first time.

All the ice cream on the menu are over 20 bucks and don’t really know which is nice and what to order. It’s my teacher’s treat, but I don’t really want to order something expensive so I found not the cheapest one, the Brownie Chocolate Ice Cream, 2 scoops and come with a hot chocolate milk. One of the scooped I ordered is Chocolate Chips and another one is Tiramisu. It’s nice, like the tiramisu one because it has a little bit of alcohol in it and I can’t really finish the brownie because I was fulled that time.

Here’s another one that my teacher has ordered which is the banana splits with 3 scoops. There’s Belgium Chocolate, Vanilla and Macademia Nuts. I like the macademia nuts flavours, it’s nice and I like the chocolate one too.

My teacher was so playful to pour the chocolate milk on the plate, he said it’s nice. LOL

Haagen Daaz is expensive, anyway thanks Anthony, my teacher for the treats. I guess I’ll have to save on my allowance to visit Haagen Daaz again.

My school canteen is having a promotion right now for the softdrink 7up Revive. It’s selling for RM1/can and it’s quite cheap for that price. Usually, it’s around RM1.40-1.60 for a normal softdrinks. Guess the expiring date is coming soon and they still got a lot of stock and so it’s getting cheap.

Hopefully, I don’t [...]

Gashapon is those Japanese slot game where you put in coin, twist and draw something out. It’s quite famous in Japan and Hong Kong and you usually find these in Toys R’ Us. Recently, while I was walking around in Gurney Plaza at the 7th floor where the arcade is, I saw there’s a little corner which is lighted up. I thought it was a store selling something but walking closer to take a look, it’s a corner full of gashapon/gachapon machines.

Not sure whether it’s operate by the person behind the arcade gaming centre or not but wonder will it be a good business in Malaysia because it’s not very famous here.

Anyway, it’s good to have something new here. =)
