Now I want to talk about another famous food in Malacca which is the famous chicken rice ball that everyone will be talking about after visiting to Malacca, Chicken Rice Ball is actually chicken rice, then squeeze into a ball shape. People at other places normally don’t want to sell it probably because they are lazy. Haha.
It’s actually chicken rice, just in a ball shape.
Our first visit was Malacca Jonker Street Chicken Rice which didn’t really give us a good impression and feel. I guess I’ve got the wrong place and simply venture into this place because girlfriend and I were to hungry.
Upon ordering a set for 2, I felt a bit dissapointed. It’s not that good, the chicken was stiff, hard to bite and there’s not much soy sauce.
As for the rice, it’s rather to powderish and tasteless a bit. Not surprise to see there’s so little customer when comparing to the other 2 more famous one, the Hoe Kee and Chung Wah.
Next up, I will write about the other 2 chicken rice ball shop that I’ve visited during my Malacca trip. Stay tuned guys. Which chicken rice balls do you like the most?

I took the Aeroline bus from Penang down to Kuala Lumpur, the bus is not like typical intercity express bus, but it’s something more luxurious with food and drinks served just like in an airplane, except there’s 4 wheels. LOL.
They have different menu for different time, I heard there’s nasi lemak, fried bee hoon, chicken rice and also Subway sandwich. As for my time, I took the morning bus at 1030am, they served me Chicken Rice. It’s warm and surprisingly the chicken was not bad, except for the rice, doesn’t taste like chicken rice to me. The gravy was nice when eating with the rice and chicken.
Food on-the-bus was not bad. Haha
Ipoh is very famous for the beansprout chicken, it’s actually not beansprout cook with chicken but they are in separate dishes of beansprout and chicken. Everyone likes Ipoh beansprout chicken, I like too, but to be honest, there’s better chicken at other places, like Penang. Hehe.
Since it’s famous, we will not miss it every time we go to Ipoh. Located in Ipoh’s old town, there’s 2 beansprout chicken outlet on Jalan Yau Tet Sin. One is Lou Wong and another is Onn Kee. Two also I have visited before, if you do listen to the radio, Lou Wong’s have made radio commercial before.
What’s so special about Onn Kee is that they have many photos of Asian’s celebrities eating out at there. Maybe this outlet is more famous then the neighbour’s shop? I don’t know. I like this place because it’s air-conditioned, not too hot.
Separated dish of beansprout and chicken. I like beansprout and I like chicken. The chicken is just more likely same as our Hainanese chicken rice’s chicken, though this chicken I ate was a little bit tough. I know a place in Penang has better chicken, but since it’s 2 different place, this maybe the best in Ipoh.
Here’s something different and that is their char siew (Roasted Pork). It’s honey barbequed and it’s something different and never eat before in Penang, not same like the char siew sell in Penang’s chicken rice’s stall.
Another thing is their speed is very fast, we sat down, ordered and in less than 10 minutes, everything is served. In so unlike in Singapore where I queued up for 45 minutes at Newton Food Centre for their Singapore’s famous chicken rice. That time was really OMG.
So which do you prefer? Lou Wong or Onn Kee? Or you have a better place to introduce?

Do you know there’s hawker stall by the roadside of Jalan Mt Erskine? It’s just after the Mt Erskine wet market and the Taoist temple. Well, it’s near to my place so I do visit there for lunch some times. There’s 2 food that I like at there, the chicken rice and laksa.
Chicken rice is nice, the char siew is nice but the siu yok/sio bak is not nice. From what I’ve known, the chicken rice stall closed after 2pm because mostly by that time, they have already ran out of chicken.
This is always my combination, a chicken rice and a bowl of assam laksa. It can be said that it’s one of the nice laksa in this area. It’s not too sweet like the one near Penang Chinese Girls High School, just nice. Good one. =)
The food stalls only operate during lunch time until tea time, there’s also economy rice, fried indian noodle, cahr koay teow, desserts and more.
