My favourite Chinese restaurant in Pavilion shopping mall is always Crystal Jade Kitchen. I’ve tried Crystal Jade Kitchen in Ngee Ann City, Singapore, but somehow the taste was not the same. Hope that they would open an outlet in Penang.

On my very short KL trip 2 weeks ago, I went shopping at Pavilion and when it comes to tea time and hungry, we went for food at Crystal Jade Kitchen. Have been to Food Junction food court a few times already, so don’t want to eat there again, wanted to eat some nice Chinese food.

It’s pretty quiet at that time, there’s only a few days, maybe it’s weekday and it’s afternoon. We ordered only a little food. Egg tarts which was nice and warm.

Their Phoenix Feet (chicken feet) was good too, but I don’t know how to differentiate the taste, I put in my mouth and I felt good, so I tell you it’s good.

Very common Cheong Fun dish with prawn. So-so only, there’s bigger prawn and the chili paste tasted better.

I ordered spicy minced chicken noodle. The chicken it’s actually not minced, it’s chopped into very small pieces and cook with some sauce. It tasted sweet and a little little bit of spicyness. I think this is something that I want to eat one time only, perhaps not my favourite, but I like the noodle. The noodle is really Hong Kong/Guangzhou style, very crispy, nice to bite, and not soft.

My brother ordered a roasted goose drumstick noodle. Served with some kailan vegetable and a bowl of soup. He said the roasted goose was good, I tried a little bit and also agreed with him. The fat part of the goose is very juicy but it’s the best part to eat.

Crystal Jade Kitchen is located in the basement of Pavilion shopping mall, Kuala Lumpur.

Hello people, I am back with some food! Have been away for quite some times because my SPM (O Level equivalent) exam is coming very soon. I am so scared. Yes, I am still eating, good food, bad food, what food also eat. Don’t really have the extra mind for it already, most of it goes to my exam. Haha.

I just to Singapore lately to attend the Nuffnang Asia Pacific Blog Awards and I got to eat some nice Singaporean food.

On my first day to Singapore, we went to Bugis which was where the hotel was. We didn’t really have any idea what to eat at first. If it my parents weren’t there, brother and I would have go to the fast food eg. Mos Burger (I miss Mos Burger!), Burger King.

Just right across the road, opposite of Bugis Junction, near to Bugis Street Market is the QQ Noodle House. QQ sounds so Chinese to me because of the Chinese famous QQ IM. We went in for our brunch. By the way, there’s actually a QQ Ramen House in my town, on the third floor of Prangin Mall. =)

The place really feel Chinese because the waitress and worker in the restaurant were Chinese, I mean Chinese from China. I am also Chinese too, but Malaysian Chinese. It’s different.

So what I ordered was the QQ Mee Pok. I miss Mee Pok, it’s actually a kind flat noodle, different from koay teow, I also don’t know want how to describe it. I knew about this from Mr Brown’s Show. No Tur Kua, there’s fish ball, minced meat, meat ball and a few pieces of char siew. I’ve forgotten about the price but I like this thing. =)

Wonder where can I find Minced Meat Mee Pok in Penang, any idea?

Have you ever heard about White Curry Mee? I’ve never until my mom told me about this place. I thought it was a kopitiam but actually it’s not, it’s a little restaurant or should be said as a enclosed air conditioned kopitiam.

Hot Bowl Nyonya Delights is situated at one of the shop houses and it’s very easy to locate with the big banner of photos of the curry mee hanging outside. Before stepping into the cafe, the first thing I know about the food in my head was, white curry mee and beansprout chicken.

The place actually served a few food besides curry mee and the Chinese chopped chicken, there’s also chicken rice, lobak and some other more dishes but people tend to order the curry mee and the Pak Cham Kai (Chinese chopped chicken) more which are both their famous food.

It’s like a chicken rice shop but they only have white chicken but no roasted black chicken. The meat very tender and soft so it’s easy to bite.

Ordering a plate of beansprout turns these into beansprout chicken which one of Ipoh’s famous food. This is good too.

However, the best food in here is still the white curry mee. It’s really white when it served only then it turned into the normal curry mee after you add the curry mee chili paste into the soup. The reason it’s white because there’s no chili added into the soup when serving. By the way, don’t add too much of chili paste or else it will be very hot and spicy.

Opening hours is from 8am to 3pm. You can check this place out, you won’t sweat a lot because it’s air conditioned.

There’s a noodle chain store in Guangzhou that has a very funny English name, it’s called Let Me In but in doesn’t means Let Me In in Chinese. It’s 靓面轩 (cantonese:leng min hin). It’s famous for the Wan Tan Noodle (Wan Tan Mee).

I went there before for breakfast during my Guangzhou trip and it’s located on the Shang Xia Jiu Pedestrian Street just right across the Holiday Inn Shifu Hotel. It’s very easy to find.

The waitress recommended their Zi Zun Wan Tan Mee 自尊云吞面. I ordered a bowl to try out and seriously it’s good. I like the noodle very much, very springy and crunch, it’s not soft and the soup tasted good too. There’s a few wan tan balls lying below the noodle and it’s big.

One thing that all the Wan Tan Mee in Guangzhou is soup based and not like here that we get to choose between dry or soup.

Besides that, I ordered a vegetable in oyster sauce for side dish. Compairing this with the same thing here in Malaysia, it’s not so oily.

From what I’ve known, Let Me In can be found in several location in Guangzhou, it’s a noodle chain store.
