A new restaurant has opened in Gurney Plaza’s alfresco area and it’s the Chicago Rib House. Sounds cool huh? Find some time, I am going there to try some ribs. I love ribs, do you? I am not really a steak guy though.
Have anyone been here already? If do, what’s your experience?
I am so slow and only knew that Rotiboy, a local famous confectionery opens it second outlet in Penang in Gurney Plaza. Probably because I was in NS and I didn’t know what’s happening on the outside world. But there’s still a lot of people don’t know that Rotiboy is in Gurney Plaza right now.
I went there to buy a lot of Rotiboy and brought back to camp a week ago, let some of my friends eat and they like it a lot and a lot of them asked me where to get it. This shows that there’s still many people don’t know what’s Rotiboy, even some Penangite! I love Rotiboy a lot and my first time knowing it was like many years back in One Utama. =D
Mom says Butterboy is nice, I never try it before but I’m gonna try it soon.

Went to Gurney Plaza for shopping a few days ago and found this new restaurant at the cineplex level, level 7 of Gurney Plaza. The name is Zheng Cai Shi Liao which literally means Steam. This restaurant was previously Wembrey Park Kopitiam which did not give me a good impression before. Have anyone tried it yet?
My birthday, it was like 2 months ago and I found some foodies to share with you guys. On my birthday that happened two months back, I wanted a place that I can have some nice western food and also serves cake, Manila Place at Gurney Plaza was where we went to. Friend told me to go to Secret Recipe but personally doesn’t like the food that much, but not the cake.
The Manila Place serves Asian and Western food, cakes and coffee. This was actually my 2nd visit to the restaurant ala cafe.

Getting into the food, me and brother ordered the set dinner which comes with a soup, main course, dessert and coffee. It’s always more reasonable than ordering it ala carte. Mom didn’t eat much, she just ordered the Soup In A Bun, which is one of their famous, mushroom soup filled in a dugged big bun. I think it’s just look pretty, after all it’s still the same mushroom soup that comes with my set dinner, except there’s lot of bread for you.

Salmon Steak was what I’ve ordered. Looking pretty with the food presentation, served with some potato wedges and some vegetable. When I say some, it’s really some, the portion was quite small and it’s not enough to fill the tummy of mine. The salmon feels kinda hard, they should have put in more gravy as it tasted rather tasteless to me.

Here is brother’s Sirloin Steak and looked good. He told me it’s good, I did not try it though. =)

Cakes are must have for birthday, so I ordered two slices of cake, one is a all time favourite, black forest and another is the coffee cheese cake. The cakes were not so sweet and it’s good, cakes that are very sweet are not good cake. I like the coffee cheese more.
Manila Place is located at the alfresco area of Gurney Plaza.
