This one of the famous dishes at the Bak Kut Teh King outlet in Penang.
There’s 2 Bak Kut Teh King outlets, one is at New World Park and another is at Gurney Plaza, fourth floor. This was my second time visit to this restaurant. I saw people eating this noodle and I ordered one and try. I tell you what, the noodle is nice but then it’s too little already. I like the ingredient there, there’s meat, vegetable and mushroom. Tasted a little bit spicy, just a little bit and it’s ok for everyone I guess. The price is a little bit high, around RM10 per bowl but it’s a good one. I like it. I want more noodle, it’s crisp.
This sushi above is free. I paid nothing for it, seriously I meant.
A few weeks ago, I went to Sushi King with a few friends, they ordered some food, ate and paid. During the payment, I was asked to fill in a feedback form about the restaurant and by just filling in the form, I got a free coupon for this tuna sushi.
It’s not a great sushi but at least I get something FOC. I went to eat it few days ago. At first, I was thinking about just just to eat the free sushi and ordering nothing. I thought I just have to pay for the green tea but the tea was free too! Then I don’t really feel comfortable without paying anything, and walked out after eating the free sushi and green tea, it’s too “Penangite”, so my friend took a plate, the cheapest plate from the belt of sushi. He ate it, and we payed only for that plate of sushi.
The cashier was suprised to see the number 1 on the bill and it was written on the the cheapest plate column. She was so frustrated and was looking for who wrote the bill. We told her who wrote the bill but she can’t find that waitress out. Oh my god, how can she not believing us just ate a plate of sushi?
I went to Gurney Plaza today for lunch. At first I was thinking about going to Kim Gary but when I saw the long queue outside the restaurant, my mom asked for other place. Brother wanted to go to Shih Lin but I just had Shih Lin like 2 days ago and in the end we agreed to go to Sakae Sushi on the new wing of Gurney Plaza.
Usually there’s also a queue on Sakae Sushi, but this time was good. There’s a place for 3 of us deep in the restaurant and the sushi moving belt is there too.
Here’s my lunch. A bowl of unagi rice with those Japanese grilled mushroom. I’ve forgotten what it is called. After checking out their website, now I know it is called Unaga Kamameshi. The rice is like claypot rice but the bowl is a steel bowl, and there’s unagi, bushroom and a little bit of egg. Rice is a lot but unagi is little, mushroom taste good, rice taste special and not bad. Though, I just can’t finish the rice.
Soft shell crab crepe. Brother ordered this because of the recommended sign in the menu. It’s little bit crispy inside because of the the soft shell crab, but it’s not anything special to me.
Big Apple Donuts and Coffee is in Penang, one in Aeon Jusco Seberang Prai and another one which is on the island in the basement of Gurney Plaza.
This is just a random photos post showing the donuts that I’ve tried before. So far, I’ve been there once time, at 2 donuts before. There’s so many choices and I can’t remember all the names, I should jot down all the names next time, buy all and try it all. You can ask the staff to pick all the recommended one for you.
I’ve tried the chocolate and cappuccino flavoured. Love them as they are very creamy in the inside. That day, I just ordered 6 for take away because there’s no place to sit already, so I took them to the food court.
One thing I don’t like about the location of the shop being in the basement, I prefer something bright like at the alfresco area of the mall where’s there’s inside and open air.
Anyway, various choice of donuts, some coffee and free wifi, nice.
Additional information for you, Big Apple Donuts and Coffee is Made in Malaysia. Big Apple is a nickname for New York City.
