Here we go. It’s a chicken breast and it’s not very hard. What’s special is the gravy and the mashed potato, it’s pretty nice. Good try.

Japanese Lunch at Jurin Express

This was my second visit to Jurin Express at Gurney Plaza. It’s not my idea to go to this restaurant but it’s my brother’s. He said he had never been there before so he want to give it a try, but then I’ve already tried it before. Anyway, since dad had never been there too and my mom said nothing about it, we went there for lunch.

Brother wanted to eat Sashimi and so, we ordered a 5 pieces Salmon Sashimi. It’s almost RM30 for 5 pieces and could be say as expensive. Wondering is it the market for such dish? Though, the salmon were really fresh and you can feel the softness of the meat in your mouth. Wow.

Another side dish was a fried vegetable in tepanyaki style. Nothing much to comment about it, healthy and good.

My main dish was the stone bowl spicy salmon. There’s egg, mushroom, vegetable and the fried salmon. What I liked was the mushroom in the stone bowl, it’s sweet! As for the salmon and overall, I prefer the stone bowl from Kim Gary’s, seriously.

Best food of the day was Unagi something-something Sushi. I love Unagi and it’s nice!

Grill Bombay Chicken at Manila Place

Manila Place is not in Philiphines but in Gurney Plaza Penang. It’s also not a restaurant that serves Filipino’s food but a combination of local of western cuisine. So, it’s more likely a beautiful restaurant/cafe with a variety of food in the menu.

A few weekends ago, my friend invited for a dinner at Manila Place. In fact, it’s my first time having a meal there. The previous was just buying a beverage takeaway and another visit was an afternoon tea without eating, but looking at what my friend ate. Which means, this was my official first time eating out at Manila Place.

After looking through the menu, it didn’t give me a “reasonable price” feeling. There’s a set dinner menu and I picked the chicken set, which then I got to choose from a list of chicken meal in the menu but not Chicken Gordon Blue. My friend who had worked there as a part-timer before introduced me to this Grilled Bombay Chicken, I ordered it.

The set came with a starter of mushroom soup, bread and butter, and 2 pieces or fried wan tan.

The main course is the Grilled Bombay Chicken. Looked pretty in photo. After putting it in my mouth, the gravy tasted like the dalcha sauce which is use in some Malay/Indian food, it’s just it’s not spicy but sweet. No wonder it’s called the Bombay Chicken.

In my 2 cents, it’s me, myself that don’t really like this dish, it’s a good one, but it’s just not my favourite.

After main course, a very small cup of ice cream will be served and that’s the set dinner consisted of.

Manila Place is located at the alfresco area of Gurney Plaza.

Bak Kut Teh Ong (King) Noodle

This one of the famous dishes at the Bak Kut Teh King outlet in Penang.

There’s 2 Bak Kut Teh King outlets, one is at New World Park and another is at Gurney Plaza, fourth floor. This was my second time visit to this restaurant. I saw people eating this noodle and I ordered one and try. I tell you what, the noodle is nice but then it’s too little already. I like the ingredient there, there’s meat, vegetable and mushroom. Tasted a little bit spicy, just a little bit and it’s ok for everyone I guess. The price is a little bit high, around RM10 per bowl but it’s a good one. I like it. I want more noodle, it’s crisp.
