Breakfast at New Pakma Prawn Hokkien Mee

P1030175

Besides the famous 888 Hokkien Prawn Mee on Lebuh Presgrave (known as sa tiao lor), I now found another hokkien prawn noodle which can add siu yok / sio bak (roasted pork) into the soup and this place serves Hokkien Prawn Mee as breakfast and lunch. The name is New Pakma Prawn Mee, located on Burma Rd, near to PTPL College and it’s just right in the Pakma Food Court.

I like having siu yok / sio bak (roasted pork) in the Hokkien Prawn Mee because it’s just something more delicious and yummy, also can say that I am a siu yok / sio bak (roasted pork) fans. The soup is different from the Lebuh Presgrave’s as it has more prawn taste instead of spiciness. Though, the price of a bowl with siu yok / sio bak (roasted pork) is RM5.50 compare to the Lebuh Presgrave’s which is only RM4.50 only. Nevertheless, it’s

First Burger King Opens In Penang

Penangite long-waited Burger King is finally here as Burger King opens its very very very first outlet here in Penang. Last time I always keep asking why Penang has no Burger King, and finally what I am asking is here.

Though nowadays, I found out that I don’t really like fast food because they are getting more and more expensive. Most of them, no matter McDonald’s, Burger King, Carl’s Junior, Wendy’s or what what what selling meal starts from RM10 which is a little bit expensive to, me.

Anyway, let’s talk back about the Burger King. On one fine evening, I was riding the express bus to go back to Penang and I was so boring in the 4-hours journey bus, so I was twittering on the way and saw people tweeting about the Burger King. I was very curious and went back to check it out.

The surprise thing is that it’s not open in any shopping mall or any entertainment area. The place where this fast food restaurant is Lebuh Sungai Pinang 5. Any idea where is it?

It’s at the 4 blue pole by the Jelutong Expressway, or also known as Nautilus Bay by IJM. Have some idea already right? It’s just by the seaside on a row of new shoplots and Burger King is the only shop that opens at there.

There’s so many car, there’s so many people in the restaurant and I think Penangite has not try Burger King before. The whole restaurant is so crowded, so many people queuing for meal and I was not interested. I thought they were giving out free burger or cheap burger, but not. Just like everyone flows in for Burger King.

Do you like Burger King? =)

Fish and Chips by Spring Cafe

Spring Cafe is a multi-cuisine cafe located at Fettes Park. Last weekend, mom took me there to have lunch and I ordered a Fish and Chips. What made it so special is the fish fillet is deep fried and quite crispy. It’s definitely different from what you had at the western food stall. Though, price wise is not very cheap, this is RM13.90.

Last weekend, I went to join the kids sushi making class organized by Penang Foyi‘s welfare group, a buddhist society here. I am not a kids but my friend was the organizer and she asked me to join in for fun and so I went. It’s held at Sushi King, Prangin Mall.

There’s like over 40 kids at there and everyone was so anxious about the class. I did sushi myself before but it was quite a failed one because I’ve forgotten to mix the vinegar with sugar and salt.

They thought us some simple Japanese term on food. Then rice mixing and the important part which people always forget is mix vinegar with sugar and salt. This is very important or else the rice would be tasteless. Pour vinegar on a mixing bowl or cup or anything, then add in sugar and salt. Don’t really need a lot, you can try the taste with your finger until and sweet and salty feel. Only then pour the mixed vinegar into your cooked Japanese rice.

We did have a little hands on. But only did 2 sushi. It’s for the kids and it’s not really a real hands on because they gave us rice that’s already shaped by machine and we only needed to wrap it with crabstick and nori sheet. And their nori sheet is nicely cut already, unlike what we bought from the supermarket.

Guess the best part of the day was having the little sushi bento and learning about mixing vinegar with sugar and salt. Haha. I’m gonna try it again at home because I failed last time. My sushi was pretty tasteless.

I am sure the kids did have a good time at there.
