I went to Gurney Plaza today for lunch. At first I was thinking about going to Kim Gary but when I saw the long queue outside the restaurant, my mom asked for other place. Brother wanted to go to Shih Lin but I just had Shih Lin like 2 days ago and in the end we agreed to go to Sakae Sushi on the new wing of Gurney Plaza.

green tea.

Usually there’s also a queue on Sakae Sushi, but this time was good. There’s a place for 3 of us deep in the restaurant and the sushi moving belt is there too.

unagi rice with shitake mushroom.

Here’s my lunch. A bowl of unagi rice with those Japanese grilled mushroom. I’ve forgotten what it is called. After checking out their website, now I know it is called Unaga Kamameshi. The rice is like claypot rice but the bowl is a steel bowl, and there’s unagi, bushroom and a little bit of egg. Rice is a lot but unagi is little, mushroom taste good, rice taste special and not bad. Though, I just can’t finish the rice.

Soft shell crab crepe. Brother ordered this because of the recommended sign in the menu. It’s little bit crispy inside because of the the soft shell crab, but it’s not anything special to me.

Yoshinoya is a fast food chain selling Japanese beef bowl and some other Japanese food. I was first introduced by my brother few years back in Kuala Lumpur. There’s a few outlet in Kuala Lumpur but unfortunately none in Penang.

Yoshinoya

It’s pretty famous in Hong Kong. It’s always full housed there but I don’t see the crowds here in Malaysia. In Singapore, sometimes.

Beef Bowl

So many times of visit to Yoshinoya, I have never change my order before. Every time is the same famous Beef Bowl. It’s selling for about RM9 for a beef bowl and a soft drink while around RM15 for additional soup, a pudding and a salad.

Maybe during my next visit to Kuala Lumpur, I’ll order other food at Yoshinoya, but I miss the Beef Bowl! Wonder when will the first outlet to be open in Penang?
