I always wanted to go to Ingolf’s Kneipe, the German Restaurant to try out their long German sausages and some other German food and finally I got a chance to eat out at there already. Dad is not a fan of western food so there were only me, brother and mother.
There’s a lot of good feedback and review about this restaurant and this makes it another reason for me wanting to visit there.

It was a Friday night and the tables were already fully booked only left a few seats at the bar area on the first floor, since there’s no choice already, so we went for it.

When I see people drinking some special brewed beer at there, it’s quite tempting although I know nothing about, but then I am not ready for beer yet, under 18, it’s still not my thing.

It’s Friday and there’s no pork knuckles, their pork knuckles is one of their famous dish and only available on Wednesday, and needs reservation too.
Brother ordered a plate of squid ring with wasabi sauce as appetizer, very hot as in the temperature, the hotness and the crispiness feels good with the creamy wasabi sauce.

Here comes main dish. This is brother’s pork’s belly, serves with salad and mash potato. After putting it into my mouth, I got to say that the taste is like Chinese’ sio bak (hokkien) / siu yok (cantonese) / shao rou (mandarin) or simply known as the roasted pork. The thing that is different is that it doesn’t has the crispy skin like the sio yok. You shouldn’t get rid of the fat part because it only will taste good when you eat with the meat.

Oh god, I’ve forgotten what was this called. This was mom’s and it’s pork (meat), serves with potato wedges and salad. I did try this and the special feel was that it’s different from Chinese-cooked pork, the meat was a little hard to bite and I don’t really favourite this dish.

Tadaaa, here come’s my dish. The German styled famous sausage dish that I’ve wanting to try a long time ago, the Currywurst. Wurst is actually means sausage in German, same thing with salad but french fries. Means that on the table, we got 3 types of potato made food.
Back to the sausage, there’s 2 of them and topped wtih a kind of sweet sauce, taste like tomato and sprinkled with curry powder ala western style. I like it, don’t think it’s spicy because of the word, curry, it’s pretty hard for me to describe the taste, there’s a little bit of pepper taste. The sausage was pork and only then I realized that pork sausage taste better than others.
I had a over-filled stomach after the dinner because I helped myself of mom’s dish too. It’s a place that I will visit again. As for the price, don’t expect to be cheap, dishes starts from RM25 and not very expensive if eating out once a fortnight or a month.

It had been a long time since I’ve eaten the Taiwanese sausage that sells on a mini stall with a lot of flavour. Still remember there’s a stall outside my high school few years back but it is not there now.
It’s very different from the western sausage, it taste sweeter and you can choose a lot of topping, e.g. black pepper, mayonnaise, curry, kiwi, wasabi, thai, garlic and more. My personal favourites are wasabi and super spicy.
Super spicy is really super spicy but I like it. Very nice. What do you think?
Mr Pot Cafe is a 24 hours cafe/restaurant at the Gurney Drive seafront. Selling local, western food, beer, coffee and snacks. It’s a nice spot to sit down to watch football at night and there’s also free wifi at the cafe so you can bring along your laptop to surf the net. The place is a nice spot to hang out because it’s by the sea and it’s always windy.
Recently, they have opened another outlet at Upper Penang Road.
So, I went to Mr Pot Cafe to have my breakfast last Sunday morning with dad and mom. Brought along my laptop to do a little bit of IM and surf the net.
Ordered a glass of blended white coffee with whipped cream on top. This taste good and it’s better than Old Town, most probably because of it’s blended and there’s whipped cream.
Here’s what I’ve ordered for myself, a English Breakfast (RM6.80) on the menu which consist of an egg, few short sausages, a ham, baked beans and breads. What I gonna say is, I love the sausage, I love the ham. In addition, the bread is nicely toasted too, making it a little crispy.
There’s a variety of food on the breakfast menu, there’s also local food too. I am going to try others next time.

In this post, I guess it will be more food pr0n then my personal review on the food. It was a food blogger gathering last night at this nice little Swiss restaurant/cafe named Edelweiess. It was my first time having meal there at Edelweiss. I read about this restaurant in the papers and other food blogs and wanted to visit it for a long time and the chanced is given. Thanks to Lingzie for organizing such a nice gathering for the food blogger.
Edelweiss is a swiss restaurant-cum-cafe with a nyonya interior feel located on the heritage street, Armenian St (Lebuh Armenian). It wouldn’t be hard looking for the restaurant, the street is short and look for a little swiss flag hanging outside and that’s Edelweiss.
Let’s get into some food, shall we?
Appetizer/Starter
First up, we got a soup and some bread for appetizer or starter. It’s a pumpkin soup and tasted sweet. It’s not really that creamy, but it’s a good try. I think it would be nice if it’s creamier. I love creamy soup.
Breads! We got garlic toast and a lots of onion and cheese topping bread. I like the onion one because there’s cheese on top.
Main Course
That’s a huge smoked pork sausage. Sorry that it’s non-halal because it’s pork. I would love to try that.
It’s about pork for the whole night with a exception of lamb. Above is a smoked pork belly. There’s the fat and the non-fat part. Wonder what will it taste like at of the skin and fat part. The worm-liked is actually mashed potato, don’t worry, it’s nice.
A little pork rib served with french fries and salad. French fries seems to be more than the mashed potato. But what were we being there is to taste food. =) When stomach goes full, you won’t feel comfortable.
The only non-pork main course among alls. It’s a roast leg of lamb. Seems nice, but I don’t really like to eat lamb. There’s always smell.
The double curry pork sausages. It’s two huge sausages with sweet chilli sauce and curry powder as topping. I’ve tried it and I like it more than my Gammon Ham below. The curry powder is not that spicy but as a Chinese (Chinese loves spicy food), exchanging the curry powder with the dried chilli powder, I think it will be hot.
Here comes my Gammon Ham with onion gravy as topping. Yes, it’s my first time trying this food. I’ve never ate it elsewhere before. It’s a thick pork ham with it’s skin on and served with worm-liked delicious small mash potato and salad. The ham is hard to cut but then I eventually ate all of it. I didn’t even bother about the fat skin. I just gotto do more exercise for now.
I ate it with some mustard and well, the same thing I got to say is, it’s hard (to cut).
Desserts
We got a apple flan and a scoop of vanilla ice cream. There’s apple and there’s egg. Like it. It’s different from apple pie, it’s not hot and because the existence of egg makes it taste, special (to me).
I forgot to talk about the price, it’s a little high for the pricing. But then it’s a good place to eat out. once in a while it would be good. Nice environment, little bar and wifi zone. Good place I’d say.
