Fish and Chips by Spring Cafe

Spring Cafe is a multi-cuisine cafe located at Fettes Park. Last weekend, mom took me there to have lunch and I ordered a Fish and Chips. What made it so special is the fish fillet is deep fried and quite crispy. It’s definitely different from what you had at the western food stall. Though, price wise is not very cheap, this is RM13.90.

Went to listen a talk today at INTI International College far away at Bukit Jambul today to know more about my future studies. I was hungry and straight go check their canteen/cafeteria out. The college was small and the canteen too. There’s only one stall and it’s called Bigbites. Saw Chicken Chop from the menu and was craving for it and ordered one for lunch.

It’s RM6.50. It’s super simple, chicken chop and fries. The chicken was really crispy and few sauce to choose from as topping, there’s black pepper sauce, mushroom sauce and oriental sauce. I chose the black pepper sauce. Overall, it’s crispy but not healthy, very oily and no salad like other western food. =)

Brother Making Linguine Bolognese At Home

IMG_1896 by nicholaschan.

My brother, Yikhung.

Just 2 days before Christmas, my brother bought home some pasta ingredient and suddenly said want to learn how to make spaghetti. We are not cooking person, I don’t know how to cook except instant noodle and scramble eggs. Though, I know spaghetti bolognese is not very hard to make. I like spaghetti bolognese! =)

There’s canned mushroom too and cut into many slices. I like to eat a lot of mushroom.

We used virgin oil for the cooking.

As for the pasta, we used linguine. I like linguine mroe than spaghetti.

Since we are not pro and it’s first time making the bolognese, we actually bought the bolognese sauce from the supermarket instead of making them ourself with tomato sauce. It’s easy, just mixed it up with the minced meat and pan fried the onion and garlic, add a little bit of water and lots of mushroom and cook it.

One tip for a delicious bolognese is buy the pick up the most expensive bolognese sauce at the supermarket, I bet it will be nice.

Lasagne and Coffee for Lunch at Dome

On a lovely Sunday afternoon, I went to Island Plaza with my mom. I was pretty hungry at that time and we didn’t know where go for lunch, there’s only Forum Chinese Restaurant, KFC, Starbucks, Coffee Bean and Dome at Island Plaza. I didn’t want to eat Chinese food or fried chicken, so in the end went to Dome for lunch.

To be honest, this was my first time eating out at Dome, never been into any Dome cafe before.

Well, the cafe was pretty nice, but somehow I like the feel of Starbucks Coffee more. It’s quiet on that day, there’s only like 4 tables include mine were occupied. Flipped through the menu and it’s all western food. I ordered a glass of Vienna coffee. The serving was nice, I like the cream on top flowing out and the glass, very cool. It’s now something different from Starbuck’s. I like this.

As for my lunch, I ordered a Lasagne. I was excited when I saw the cheese melting on top of the beef. Western food’s serving is always small but the smallnest did fill my stomach much. Although the cheese seems a lot, somehow the tomato taste are stronger than the cheese. So far, in my life, I didn’t tried Lasagne of many place before, and this was not bad, though the price was a little bit high at around RM20.

Do you like lasagne?
